Where the number of applications exceeds the number of places available the Governing Body will apply the following over-subscription criteria:
- Baptised Catholic looked after children.
- Baptised Catholic children living in the designated Parishes of – Blessed Sacrament, Holy Name and St Francis De Sales.
- Baptised Catholic children who have a brother or sister at the school at the time of likely admission. This includes full, half or step-brothers and sisters, and foster brothers and sisters who are living at the same address and are part of the same family unit.
- Baptised Catholic children from other Catholic Parishes.
- Looked after children who are other than Catholic.
- Children who are other than Catholic who have a brother or sister at the school at the time of likely admission. This includes full, half or step-brothers and sisters, and foster brothers and sisters who ate living at the same address and are part of the same family unit.
- If, after considering applications made which meet any of the above criteria, or a combination of one or more of the same, there remains a shortfall in the planned admission number, the Admission Committee will consider applications made by parents of children of other Christian denominations. It would be necessary for such parents to have expressed a genuine desire for them to be educated in a Catholic School and to be fully supportive of its Catholic ethos.
- Children of other faiths whose parents demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the school.
- Children whose parents express a preference for a place at the school.
In the event of any over-subscription in the number of applications made under any of the categories above then the Admission Committee will offer places first to children living nearest to the school measured by the shortest walking distance using public highways.
Please note: The Governing Body reserve the right to admit children with proven and exceptional medical and social needs where admission to the school might best help satisfy those exceptional needs, providing that such application is submitted with appropriate evidence or reports from a doctor or social worker.
