Pathway to Law Programmes for Year 10 and Year 12 students
A huge congratulations to the following Year 10 students:
- Leah McCormick
- Kaitlyn Thomas
- Katy Taylor
- Olivia Pinder
- Connor Hand
- Lauren Wearing
- Beth Kelly
They have all been offered a place on the University of Liverpool’s ‘Pathway to Law’ Programme. The programme is designed to support these Year 10 students over a 4 year period, successful completion of which will ultimately result in them progressing onto studying Law at the University of Liverpool. As Law is a highly selective course, the college will be working with Law Academics at University of Liverpool to design a programme that will enable our students to develop the skills and gain the experience needed to successfully progress onto the University of Liverpool’s Law school.
The students have already started the programme and started to engage with the University on a number of occasions. The sessions so far have included interactive workshops and seminars that have introduced the students to the basics of studying Law at University. Students will continue to spend one day per term at the University over the next 4 years. In addition to this, students will be spending 3 days over the summer at the University of Liverpool experiencing life as a University student.
Both Alex Archer and Praise Johnson are also on the Year 12 programme and have been following the programme. The programme they are following is a two-year programme in which both students have and will continue to take part in a range of workshops related to Law. In addition to this, Alex and Praise will undertake work experience in the legal sector, they will visit the Inner Temple and Royal Courts of Justice in London. Alex and Praise will also be assigned mentors to support them over the next two years.
Mrs Welsh, University of Liverpool co-ordinator again praised the students for taking advantage of another wonderful opportunity that has been extended to our fantastic students.
