Congratulations to all our students who completed examinations in 2011. Yet again the school has achieved record results for our year 11 and sixth form students:
What does this mean? Well, more students than ever are joining our sixth form to build on their success. There are now over 300 students in the sixth form which makes it one of the largest sixth forms in the city. It is also one of the highest achieving in all published results.
This year over 100 students have gone to University to study in a wide range of academic disciplines – Aerospace Engineering, Law, Electronic Engineering, Chemistry to name a few. This is an outstanding achievement as only a few years ago a national survey identified Walton as an area where the fewest percentage of students go on to Higher Education. Thanks to the successes at Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College this is no longer the case. Well done to our students. We are very proud of you.
The successes do not finish there, with many of our Year 9 and 10 students undertaking examinations in 2011. With many A* and A grades in maths and science then the future looks very bright at Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College.
We aim for our students to leave our school as confident, talented and responsible individuals. All of our students have the opportunity to take part in sports, music, dance, drama, art or other activities, as well as aspirational opportunities like visiting universities or completing music grades (100% pass rate in the ABRSM external examinations).
I would like to thank all the Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College community for your thoughts and prayers. Clearly the Holy Spirit is guiding our students and the school in the right direction.
