As part of National School Sports Week 2013 and to celebrate our students commitment and enjoyment of PE we held Sports Days for year 7, 8 and 9, during the last week in June. Students chose to represent their form in an Inter-Form competition in selected Olympic sports. These were Handball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Hockey. The emphasis was on mass participation, with every student in the year group participating in one sport. Additionally, students could choose to participate in two special events, Tug of War and an Obstacle Course.
The event overall was a great success, with students from each of the year groups embracing the day and demonstrating some of the key Olympic and Paralympic Values of respect, friendship, determination and equality, endorsed by National School Sports Week.
It was fantastic to see so many students participating and having fun, together with teachers, support staff and each other.
Special credit must be given to the PE staff who helped to set up and run the activities, with particular thanks to Mr Gillon, who was the lead organiser and coordinated the entire event.
