As part of the College’s Music Scholarship Programme and the commitment to providing a high quality music education for our students, we recently welcomed Andrew Bassey to the College to lead a two day instrumental workshop.
Andrew is a multi instrumentalist, bassoonist and conductor, At the age of 18 Andrew went to study bassoon at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Andrew's bassoon playing career took him from the North of England to South Africa, returning to England in 1997.
Based in Northampton UK, he runs Northamptonshire Orchestral Winds, a community wind band college, teaching groups of children and adults from complete beginner to advanced students.
Speaking after the workshop Mr Bassey said, “I enjoyed coming to Liverpool to see how the instrumental programme is organised at the College and Partner Primary Schools. I found the students to be excellent and they worked very hard over the two day workshop. The standard is also excellent and they are to be congratulated for their talents and commitment.”
