Over 300 of the best Young Ambassadors from across the country descended on Wembley Stadium on Monday 24th March 2014 for the Young Ambassador Celebration Day where the following students from our school who were selected to attend the event:
Ellis Mulhaney, Josh Hughes, Jordan Masterson, Jessica Sutherland, Lee Curran and Sam Carroll.
Joining them throughout the event was a fleet of inspirational athletes, including London 2012 Olympic canoe gold medallist Tim Baillie, double Paralympic medallist Ian Rose, footballer Kelly Smith, England women's all-time leading goal scorer, Olympic hockey bronze medallist Alex Danson, and wheelchair rugby ace Steve Brown.
Workshops on the day where all about being creative, with the challenge of articulating skills gained as a Young Ambassador to come up with great ideas and exciting projects to develop within our school community and primary link schools.
The Athlete Mentors passed on their tips and guidance throughout the day, and helped the Young Ambassadors to develop the outstanding work the Young Ambassadors do in leading PE and school sport across the City.
Ian Cawley, Development Manager for Young Ambassadors at the Youth Sport Trust said: "Last year's Young Ambassador Celebration Day was a fantastic event, and this year it promises to be even bigger and better. The day was a chance for Young Ambassadors to look back on everything they've achieved as leaders, and the activities will challenge them to utilise some of the life skills they have developed."
