The college was delighted to welcome Rosemary Broadbent to the college in her role as a music examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Rosemary is also chief examiner for AQA “A” Level music.
Director of Music Bruce Hicks said, “External music examinations form a vital part of the music curriculum at the College with over 100 students this year taking music examinations, not only in instrumental studies but also a large number have taken vocal examinations”. He added, "We had candidates taking Grade 1 right up to Grade 8; a wonderful reflection of the strong ethos of music making at the College, which provides students with a disciplined framework for achievement in their musical studies".
The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is an examinations board registered based in London, UK, which provides examinations at music at centres around the world. ABRSM is one of four examination boards accredited by Ofqual, to award graded exams and diploma qualifications in music within the UK's National Qualifications framework.
