“Roll over Beethoven”

Outstanding Music Trio of Results!

Archbishop Beck Catholic College once again enjoyed a successful results day for both A-Level and GCSE examinations. In fact the College recorded it best academic results in its history. A great way to celebrate the opening of the new College campus!

The College Music Department is celebrating more music examination successes with the release of Associated Board and London College of Music examinations results.

Our picture shows a trio of outstanding results, with Sean Sweeney who took GCSE Music a year early being awarded an A* along with fellow classmate Kieran, not content with that Kieran gained Distinction in Grade 2 Violin and Distinction in Grade 7 Saxophone, Sean gained Distinction in Grade 5 Violin and passed his Grade 7 trumpet as well. Kelly becomes the first Archbishop Beck student to gain a Diploma in Performance.

Director of Music, Bruce Hicks said, we were delighted with the outstanding achievements of all our musicians, but the results of this elite trio were amazing. The vast majority of our musicians having commenced their musical journey in the partner primary school music programmes run by the College. He added “it just goes to show that from “Small acorns large Oak trees grow”.
