Read for My School

“The best advice I ever got was that knowledge is power and to keep reading”. David Bailey

Archbishop Beck Catholic College is taking part in an exciting national reading competition called Read for My School. The competition, which involves year 7 and 8 students, is running from January to March 2015. Reading for pleasure is at the heart of the initiative, which aims to generate excitement about books and cultivate long-lasting positive attitudes towards reading.

Year 7 and 8 students can visit the website which is hosting a free online library of over 100 books by top children’s authors. Books can be read online wherever students have internet access; the programme is fully compatible with most major tablets. Students can of course also choose to read books in print or books that are not part of the online library the goal is simply to read as much as possible this term.

Good luck to our year 7 and 8 students and remember keep reading !
