Year 7 Most Able Activities
Battle of Waterloo exhibition at the University of Liverpool July 2015
Working in partnership with Liverpool University, Archbishop Beck Catholic College have developed a unique pathway to success for our most able students. Our programme runs from years 7 -13 and includes initiative ideas to stretch and challenge our most able students.
As part of this programme in July 2015 our most able year 7 students were invited to attend a Battle of Waterloo exhibition at the University of Liverpool. The event was to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle, which was a defining moment in European history. Led by education staff from the National Army Museum, the students met Waterloo Soldiers and through the use of objects, discovered what life was like in Wellington s army. Furthermore the students had the opportunity to learn about the horror and heroism on the battlefield.
On return to college the reviews from our student and staff were extremely positive, with students asking when the next most able event would be held.
