Following on from the debating work done in school in Creative Literacy and RE last year, a group of students recently visited the Houses of Parliament in London to celebrate their work and to see where Members of Parliament hold their own debates. Also present were a group of Year 11 and Sixth Form students who have been participating in the Liverpool Schools Parliament.
Students were given the opportunity to take part in a very informative guided tour around both chambers in Parliament, the House of Parliament and the House of Lords, before participating in a lively and interesting debate during a workshop on democracy.
Whilst in London, students also had chance to go on a guided coach tour around the city and on a boat trip along the River Thames.
Accompanying the students on the trip were Mr Postlethwaite, Mrs Brown, Mrs Adams and Mr Begusch.
