Aspirations and Extraordinary Achievement
The college community was delighted to celebrate the success of 6th Form student Emma.
Emma gained 2nd place at the prestigious “Catenian” public speaking contest recently held in St Helens. Emma performed so well that both 1st and 2nd placings have been invited to the National Final to be held later in the year.
In the same week Emma took a lead role in the college musical “School of Rock” and also gained a Merit in her Grade 6 Clarinet examination and also recently gained Grade 8 in Ballet.
Speaking on the return to the college after Easter break, Mr Hicks, who co-ordinates public speaking at the college said, “this was truly a combination of Aspiration, outstanding Achievement and high Expectations, a true extraordinary marathon”
Emma added, “ I really enjoyed the challenge that the numerous events and activities provided me with and certainly felt that I gave of my very best. I just did not believe that I could achieve all of this but I took on the challenge and the impossible became possible”
“However ordinary each of us may seem, we are all in some way special, and can do things that are extraordinary, perhaps until then even thought impossible.”
