Students Enjoy Study Break

"A great many people, and more all the time, live their entire lives without ever once sleeping out under the stars." Alan S. Kesselheim

Congratulations to Archbishop Beck Catholic College students Nathan and Ceira who completed a rigorous training weekend with the Merseyside Cadet Force. The special training camp was recently held at Altcar Training Camp, Formby.

The highlight for the students seems to be “the experience of sleeping out in the open during the two day camp”.

Merseyside Army Cadet Force has around 800 cadets and 140 adult volunteers in 31 detachments spread around the county of Merseyside.

All detachments parade two nights a week between 1900 and 2130hrs, times and days vary by detachment. Cadets also have the opportunity to take part in weekend training throughout the year and in the Summer the County goes on a two week Annual Camp. Both Cadets and Adult Instructors are also given the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications, such as Duke of Edinburgh Awards, CVQO, St Johns Ambulance and Hearstart First Aid.
